Rotary Youth Exchange is a study abroad opportunity for young people to spend anywhere from a few weeks to a full year as an international student hosted by local Rotary Clubs. Over 8,000 students from over 80 countries participate each year. Students do not need to be affiliated with a Rotary family to participate. It's just another way Rotary helps to foster peace through global understanding.

At our meeting Monday, Annika Pavlovich (left), daughter of our own Christi Fry, announced that she would be spending the year in Alghero, Sardinia, Italy, studying at a language institute. Joining Annika (from left to right) are Josephine from Stuttgart, Germany. Josephine has been studying in San Luis Obispo for the last year and will be returning home this week. Miranda Boyne, SLO High Graduate, will be leaving for Sao Paulo, Brazil next week. Her mother is Bonnie Marzio is in the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. On the far right is Rachel Acotsa who just returned from a year studying in Stuttgart on Sunday night.

Thanks to our members Leslie McKinley and Christi Fry opening their homes, our club will be hosting a student this year. Guillermo (Guille) Bonnet-Salvador is from Pamplona. Spain. He likes to surf and play tennis, so will be at home here on the Central Coast. He arrives August 18.

Both Annika and Guille will be at the Rotary Family Picnic on August 24, and you'll have an opportunity to meet them then.
